What is an accuracy alert?
Short answer: An alert raised when an AI assistant states something that contradicts your verified facts, such as a wrong price, address, phone number or opening hours.
An accuracy alert is a notification that an AI assistant has said something about your business that does not match the facts you have verified: an old price, a closed branch, the wrong phone number, a service you do not offer or an opening time that is out of date.
It works like this. During onboarding you confirm a fact card for each brand: legal and trading names, address, phone, opening hours, core services, price points and anything else a customer might ask about. Every answer collected in a visibility run is then compared against that card. When a claim in the answer contradicts a fact on the card, Seoptist records an accuracy issue and, on Growth and above, raises an alert by email, or by Slack or Teams on Agency.
Why this matters more than it might seem: an assistant that recommends you but quotes a price 30% below your real one creates a frustrated enquiry and a lost job. An assistant that gives your old address sends a customer to a locked door. Neither shows up in a visibility score, because you were mentioned.
What to do when an alert fires:
- Find where the wrong fact lives. It is usually a directory listing, an old press article or a stale page on your own site that was never updated.
- Fix the source, then make sure your site and Google Business Profile state the correct fact prominently and in structured data.
- Re-run the prompt manually after a week or two to confirm the engines have caught up.
Accuracy alerts are included on Growth, Agency and Enterprise. The fact card itself is also used by the audit to catch contradictions between your own pages, which is often where the problem started.
